Christ Church, Roath Park, Cardiff

Christ Church is a welcoming and loving church community, close to beautiful Roath Park lake in Cardiff, Wales (UK). Whatever your age, however you are feeling, whatever your background, however frequently or infrequently you attend church, we’d love to welcome you to our church community. Our Sunday worship includes an 8am Eucharist, a 10am Communion, and a 6pm reflective worship. As well as a quarterly Messy Church and our weekly Funky Church for children, we hold a Sunday evening youth group (J-Walkers). We also run numerous groups and events to help and inspire us to live out our transformative, compassionate, and hopeful faith in our daily lives.

This video was produced as part of a new multimedia "Christmas Journey Walk" to tell the nativity story in an innovative and creative way. The Walk has nine stations which take you on a journey through the Christmas story through passages from the Bible and QR Codes which link to videos and music to enhance the retelling of the events of the first Christmas.

You are invited either to come to the church grounds during advent and Christmas, or to just stop if you are walking past, and take time out of your busy lives to read and reflect on the stations one by one. And you can even do so with your smartphones on and your headphones in - story and song together will bring the meaning of Christmas alive!

Thanks to John Tredget and Fiona Cule for organising the Christmas Journey Walk, to Eleanor Williams for writing this script, and to Revd Trystan Owain Hughes for recording this video.

We are delighted to have contributed to this short film by Marie Curie. You will see and hear our Dementia Friendly Coordinator Sylvia McCarty and our vicar Canon Trystan Owain Hughes. And look out for our beautiful building :-)
Our new hall is going to be a beacon of hope for the lonely, the disabled, the young and the old - for people of all backgrounds. The local young people of the area have no dedicated youth centre - our community hall will be a place of fun and refuge for them to meet. There will be opportunities for fitness groups, meetings, indoor sport, friendship events, and so on 🙂 Let's make this happen!

A beautiful Welsh hymn (Iesu Iesu, 'rwyt ti'n ddigon) with words in both Welsh and English. Prepared for a wonderful event for Dydd Gŵyl Dewi (St David's Day) when Christ Church, Cardiff met on zoom with St David's by the Sea church in Cocoa Beach, Florida, US. Much fun and joy on the feast day of the patron saint of Wales.

Thank to to Owen Hurrell for his beautiful singing, Dr Sue Hurrell for the music and the video, and Dr Sue, Revd Siôn Brynach, and Revd Dr Trystan Owain Hughes for the photography.
What is Lent? Revd Trystan and Joey introduce Lent to our primary schools in the parish.
