Funky Church takes place during the 10am service on Sunday mornings (except the first Sunday of the month). The children take part in the main church service for the first hymn and prayers and then go out to the church hall for a range of games, activities, stories, discussion and craft. Parents are welcome to accompany their children, but are equally invited to leave them in the capable hands of our DBS-checked Funky Church leaders and helpers. Activities are planned for children from 3 to 11 years, but parents with younger children are also welcome to join us – toys for babies and toddlers are always available. Funky Church gives children an opportunity to understand and learn more about Jesus and it gives parents a chance for a time of quiet worship without worrying about what the children are doing! We are a fully inclusive group, welcoming and valuing all children, whatever their personal additional needs. When the children return to the church for communion, the vicar chats to the group about their time at Funky Church and then a family-appropriate hymn is sung to end the service.
