The church is located close to the oval, the site of cell of the early Celtic Christian hermit, St Isan, known as St Isan’s well, and there is still, in existence, a large pond fed by a spring at the spot. Christ Church is one of three post second world war Anglican places of worship to be build in Cardiff. The Church in Wales was keen to respond to the rapid expansion of North Cardiff in the 1950s and 1960s and even earlier in the 1930s and in particular to serve the areas around Roath Park and lake. Music at Christ Church
Music forms a large part of Sunday worship at the 10am and 6pm Sunday services. The music at Christ Church is representative of many styles and ages. At the heart of our musical activity is our small church choir, leading singing at 10am Parish communion in four-part harmony. The choir also lead special services during the church year, including an advent carol service, Christmas carol service, and Easter Evening Praise celebration. The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and supports events organised by them. We also have a vibrant youth choir that sing on special occasions and family services. Our New Hall
Our current hall is in need of refurbishment and so we have decided to build a completely new hall in the same place, to replace it. It has taken us some time to come to a real realisation about our needs as we plan our new hall. Having seen the large numbers of people using the hall, we realise that we definitely need something bigger and also some meeting rooms. Continue Reading

Christ Church, Roath Park is committed to work alongside St Denys Church, Lisvane to play their full and active part in God’s Mission in our local area. We have committed ourselves to support each other’s role as salt and light in our communities, to work jointly with each other where that is possible and practicable, and to pray for one another as clergy and people. Local Community Links
Schools: Christ Church enjoys a close relationship with a number of primary and secondary schools. The clergy regularly take assemblies at Ton yr Ywen primary school, and are part of the pastoral provision at St Teilo’s secondary school. We also have close links with our neighbouring secondary school, Cardiff High School. Continue Reading
