11) Remembrance Liturgy
In the blowing of the wind
and in the chill of winter,
we remember them.
In the blueness of the sky
and in the warmth of summer,
we remember them.
In the rustling of leaves
and in the beauty of autumn,
we remember them.
In the beginning
and when it ends,
we remember them.
When we are lost
and sick at heart,
we remember them.
When we have joys
we yearn to share,
we remember them.
So long as we live,
they too shall live,
for they are part us,
and we remember them.
Older member of the congregation (David):
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
Younger member of the congregation (Macsen):
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning,
we will remember them.
All affirm:
We will remember them.
The Last Post
Silence – Two minutes
Reveille
Let us commit ourselves to responsible living and faithful service.
Will you strive for all that makes peace?
We will
Will you seek to heal the wounds of war?
We will
Will you work for a just future for all humanity?
We will
Older members of the congregation (David):
When you go home tell them of us and say,
for your tomorrow we gave our today.
